Renovation of the Pacific Church Project

We project managed the renovation of Four Pacific Churches in Waikato, funded by the Provincial Growth Fund.

The aim of this project was to boost much needed employment and revenue for Māori and Pacific people and businesses in the Covid-recovery phase in the region.

This project has:

Provided up to 50+ job opportunities. Had 14+ businesses be part of the project, 80% of which are owned and operated by Māori and Pacific people. Impacted 400+ community members who will benefit from this project.

Science Spinners STEM Event

Puatala ran a two-day Science Spinners STEM Hub event in partnership with The Kudos Science Trust, engaging and inspiring Māori, Pacific and female students from low decile high schools across the Waikato in showcasing how science and STEMs applies within the Trades industries.

300+ students undertook 12 hands-on activities run by 12 industry experts (businesses) to get a taster of STEM-in-Trades, seeing first-hand how science applies in Civil/Structural, Electrical and Mechanical engineering sectors.

There were also 30+ internships, cadetships and apprenticeships on offer.

Thank you to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples - Toloa for helping us make this happen. And thank you to the companies that volunteered their time and resources to run amazing activities: CB Civil, Dempsey Wood Civil, Southbase Construction, Northpower, WEL Networks, Civtec, Ventia, Downer NZ, BCD Group, Azcend, ES Plastics and Vertex Engineering.

Peacocke Strategic Wastewater Project

We partnered with CB Civil to provide training and labour on the Peacocke Strategic Wastewater Project for Hamilton City Council, set to service 200+ homes.

Rotokauri Rise Project

We’re currently providing training and labour for the Civil Works across the Rotokauri Rise Project, Hamilton’s newest residential development.

This will encompass nearly 900 sections and incorporate three park areas and several wetlands, providing recreational opportunities for the locals.

Lockerbie Retirement Village

We’re providing training and labour solutions for the Civil and Land Development Works on Lockerbie’s brand new Retirement Village development.

This is situated in the heart of Lockerbie Estate on the edge of Morrinsville.
